This indicator reflects the proportion of currently married women who utilize any form of contraception, encompassing both modern and traditional methods. Modern contraceptive techniques, which include female and male sterilization, hormonal pills, intrauterine devices (IUDs), injections, implants, and various barrier methods like condoms, enable couples to effectively plan family size and spacing. In contrast, traditional methods, such as periodic abstinence and withdrawal, offer alternative approaches but tend to have higher failure rates. By assessing this percentage, we gain insights into women's reproductive health autonomy, the effectiveness of family planning programs, and the cultural attitudes towards contraception, ultimately highlighting the need for tailored interventions to improve access to and education about various contraceptive options.
