This economic indicator represents the total value of goods and services produced within a country's borders, adjusted for inflation and expressed in U.S. dollars consistent with 2015 prices. It encompasses the gross value added by domestic producers, accounting for any product-related taxes while excluding subsidies that are embedded in product valuations. Notably, this metric does not adjust for asset depreciation or the degradation of natural resources, allowing for a clearer assessment of economic output over time. To ensure accuracy, domestic currencies are converted into U.S. dollars at established 2015 exchange rates, or, where necessary, via alternative conversion factors to reflect actual market dynamics for countries with differing exchange realities.
