This indicator assesses the proportion of pregnant women who utilized insecticide-treated nets (ITN) for protection against mosquito bites during the night prior to the survey. ITNs are critical for safeguarding maternal and fetal health, particularly in malaria-endemic regions where the risk of transmission is heightened. Monitoring the percentage of pregnant women sleeping under ITNs not only provides insights into their awareness and access to preventive measures but also highlights gaps in public health initiatives aimed at improving maternal health outcomes. Seasonal trends and community education efforts can also be evaluated, allowing health authorities to tailor interventions effectively to increase ITN usage, thereby reducing the incidence of malaria and its associated complications in pregnancy.
